Agra, India is the location of the Taj Mahal, a mausoleum. This nation’s national monument is made of exquisitely chiselled white marble. Shah Jahan ordered its construction between 1631 and 1653 to house Mumtaz Mahal’s tomb, who passed away in childbirth while giving birth to their 14th child. Arjumand Bano Begum was another name given to Mumtaz Mahal. At the nexus of Islamic, Iranian, Persian, and Indian architectural styles, the Taj Mahal is a wonder of Mughal construction.

Stop at: Mehtab Bagh

Details: Behind the Taj Mahal, there is a garden like this. Mehtab Bagh or The Moonlight Garden are the names of the place. 25 fountains and a letter from Aurangzeb to his father in the 17th century describing the garden’s post-flood condition were discovered in this region following a recent evacuation. This garden is a perfect square. Babur constructed this garden, and Shah Jahan put the Taj Mahal where it is today so that the Mahal could have a view of the garden. This garden once contained numerous fountains, pavilions, and other attractions, all of which were destroyed by a flood. It is reported that Shah Jahan picked this location to construct a black edifice for himself that would resemble the Taj Mahal. However, his son had imprisoned him, preventing him from fulfilling his intentions.
