Tour Overview:
After pickup at your Jaipur hotel, make the approximately 18-mile (30-kilometer) journey to Chokhi Dhani by private, air-conditioned vehicle.On route, gaze at rural Rajasthan and get insider tips on the highlights of Chokhi Dhani from your driver.
Spread over 10 acres (4 hectares), this family-friendly, ethnic village-style resort of shops, galleries, demonstrations, and live entertainments celebrates rural Rajasthani life: showcasing everything from its arts, handicrafts, and culture to its cuisine, costumes, and architecture.
On arrival, enjoy ample time to explore the attractions at leisure. Stroll through the lanes past recreations of rustic village huts and painted temples, visit the museum, and enjoy vibrant live performances such as folk dances, songs, puppet shows, and fire and acrobatic acts.
Soak up the charming atmosphere, take a camel, horse, or bullock-cart ride, enjoy a head massage, and, if you have the kids with you, let them loose in the play parks.
Afterward, take a seat in a richly decorated restaurant and savor a traditional Rajasthani dinner like a vegetable thali — assorted vegetarian dishes on a platter. Drinks are available at your own expense.
Finally, reconvene with your vehicle and return to Jaipur, ending your tour with a hotel drop-off.
Tour Itinerary:
Jaipur – Be collected in early evening at 5:30pm from your Jaipur hotel and transferred to Chokhi Dhani, located 30km (18miles) from the city on Tonk Road, arriving at approximately 6:30pm.
Chokhi Dhani – Normally, when one thinks of Rajsthan, they think of a state of kings, a place of snake charmers, and an emerging handicraft’s industry. But at this village the real Rajasthan lives on in the paintings, the Bani Thani art, the wall decorations, and the cow dung plaster. It lives on in the food, the fresh air, the evening performances, the enthusiasm, the ‘manuhar’ (mouthful catering), the traditions, the costumes, and last but not least, the heart. At Chokhi Dhani it’s all there for you. The aim is to preserve and encourage the village art and culture, to get today’s generation closer to their past, to change the philosophy of the world about Indian village culture.
Chokhi Dhani Explore the village on your own until approximately 7pm when you’ll have dinner at a Chokhi Dhani restaurant (included) before departing for your accommodation in Jaipur. Note: this is a self-guided tour, however, the driver can provide some information on activities and points of interest in the village.
